Taken just after sunrise west of Big Bend Park showing Mexico in distance across river. A flash fill was used to illuminate the foreground.

I was pleased to find this photo published as a postage stamp in 1999 (below). I first learned about this when a collector wrote and asked me to autograph his First Day Issue envelope. (The photo, I found out, had been released earlier by National Geographic.)
